I love the NBA, which is why — as an editor and sometimes a writer — I’ve published thousands of articles at ESPN.com and other places.

But do I love everything about the NBA? 

I do not.

Let’s get to it: Three things that make the NBA the absolute best … and three that make the NBA the absolute worst.

The good stuff …

1. The NBA is the most spectacular major sport.

Are NBA athletes the best in the world, as is often said? That’s debatable. Northwestern econ professor Jeff Ely had a sneaky good point when he wrote:
